We have been looking for a good curry house in Finchely for so long. As we think the Bayleaf if overpriced. So we... chanced Mala on Christmas Eve and was blown away, so much so. That we ruined our healthy eating plans for Januray by going back the first week of Jan. The food, drinks and service was exceptional on both visits. Meals cooked to perfection and the layers of flavours within the dishes was so unexpected. Writing this is making me hungry just thinking about our visits. Mala is our new favourite so much so that we have booked a family meal in a few weeks.read more

Ate there with my mother recently, food seemed OK until we realised that the chicken tikka we ordered was completely... RAW in the middle- there’s certain things you can overlook in a restaurant or when out for dinner but undercooked chicken is not one of them- it can kill you. Staff were apologetic but having looked at the reviews can see this complaint has appeared a fair few times despite being told “this has never happened before”. No problems with the service but personally, I would never eat somewhere that does not make the customers health the primary concern. Poor show. Just have to hope we don’t get sick now.read more

My wife and i had dinner here on Sunday. We had never been here before so were keen to try the food. the owners have... put a lot of thought in to the decor which enhanced the atmosphere. There was a good choice for veg people and the food was really tasty. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this place to people wanting a good mealread more

Absolutely highly recommended this restaurant the decor, ambiance, service all exceptional and it serves the best... Indian food ever had very tasty and delicious we had chicken tikka, lamb curry, aloo tikka and dhal both non vegetarian and vegetarian were spicy and tasty and flavours were delicious I would highly recommend this restaurant we have visited this since it opened and have never been disappointed travel from east London it’s worth it always delivers on every level worth visitingread more

My first experience at Mala restaurant was absolutely stunning. 13 years in this country and I’ve never had this... chicken jalfrezi anywhere else. Absolutely delicious food and vibes. The atmosphere is so elegant and glamorous and inspires you to have a nice meal and cocktails. Fully recommend it!!!read more

After a truly exceptional start to its existence, this establishment's output has lost all of its lustre. Safe for a... few exceptions, the quality of the ingredients is subpar. You will never get chutney with your order of popodums. The prawns are definitely not fresh. The chicken is definitely not properly marinaded or grilled in anything that resembles a tandoor. The naans are bland. I wouldn't go as far as recommending the deplorable Bay Leaf as an alternative, but go elsewhere for your curry fix.read more

Mala's was the perfect place for our daughters 18th. The food was tasty and delicious. The customer service was... awesome. Sonia was a great event manager. She helped with the decorations, let us play our own playlist. Took lovely pics of our special moments. Created a fab cocktail to go with our champagne toast with our guests!!😍read more

Service and staff were excellent. We had an issue with one of our meals but it was dealt with in a very professional... and apologic manner. Food was good. There were some dishes that could be improved but in general food was tasty and good size portions.read more

I went here with my family on Friday to try it out as I saw that it had recently opened. As I walked in I was greeted... by friendly staff who took me to my table. Once I got the food, it exceeded all of our expectations and was probably the best Indian I have had in a while. We will surely be revisiting in the near future.read more

Thought we would try somewhere new after reading the glowing reviews. We were served undercooked chicken twice and then... expected to pay for it without complaint. The manager eventually very reluctantly knocked that dish off our bill, but her attitude was at best poor. There are much better Indian restaurants to eat in locally, we won't be going back.read more
